Research Department
The Academic Research Department has been established in Spring 2006.
The goals of the Academic Research Department (ARD) at FCIM is to prepare and conduct clinical evaluation on effectiveness according to the World Health Organization (WHO) standards and guidelines for clinical research on acupuncture. And ARD provide students and practitioners the opportunities to learn modern research methodology and to participate in the full lifecycle of the clinical research process including experiment design, sampling, primary & secondary data collection, data analysis, and preparation of articles. It’s very practical and feasible to the senior students and the new practitioners for their future practice.
Acupuncture has been used more than 2500 years as a therapeutic medical technique in China. Acupuncture, as an apparently simple and effective clinical procedure, has spread worldwide. Although acupuncture has been tested by thousands of years clinical practice, appropriate scientific studies would now be useful for the rational use and further development of acupuncture.
Currently, there are about 4 faculty member and affiliated researchers have joined this research team and all current students are invited to participate.
