Grades & Achievements
Reporting
of Grades
At the conclusion of each semester, students receive
written notification of the grade achieved in each course. The Florida
College of Integrative Medicine (FCIM) keeps these records on file
permanently. Official transcripts are issued upon request.
Grades
The conventional "A" through "F" and "Incomplete" grading
system is used by FCIM. "Pass" and "No Pass" are
used in certain circumstances.

If a student fails to complete the requirements in the time allocated
for the course, the "Incomplete" grade will be assigned.
Incomplete grades must be completed within 30 days of course termination.
A Class Extension Fee of $50.00 will be charged. An incomplete grade
that is not completed within the allotted time is changed to a grade
of "F."
Makeup examinations, retests, late hand-in of reports or projects,
or any other special arrangements are allowed only
at the instructor's option. Only the instructor or his/her designee
can administer a makeup examination or retest. No instructor is required
to accept late assignments and it is fully within the instructor's
authority to give a failing grade for any examination the student
does not take when scheduled. If a makeup examination or retest is
approved, a fee of $50.00 is charged. The maximum grade awarded for
a retest is 70%.

Satisfactory Progress
Students must achieve a minimum of 70% on all written
tests and a "Pass" grade on all internship evaluations.
If the student fails to achieve these minimum levels
of performance, he or she is subject to being placed
on probation for one semester. While on probation
the student must achieve a minimum of 75% on all tests and:
Retake and pass all the failed tests and examinations prior to
the beginning of the next semester. (A fee of $50.00 is charged
for each retest and a fee of -$50.00 is charged for retaking a final
examination.), or
- Repeat the failed courses (tuition required) with a lower class
while proceeding to the next semester on probation, or
- Repeat the entire semester with the lower class and pay required
tuition.
While on probation, the student will continue to receive financial
aid for one semester only.
Student Achievement
Course grades, graduation rates and pass rates on the
NCCAOM exam are the primary data used to evaluate student achievement.
Course grade reports and graduation statistics are reviewed by the
Academic Dean. All institutional research is reviewed by the Committee
for Institutional Effectiveness. Evaluation of each student transcript
is done each semester and reviewed with the student.
